Provider AIG Life has announced changes to their critical illness and income protection policies. After the news that they now deliver immediate life insurance decisions for cancer, they will now provide cover for cancer survivors under YourLife Income Protection and their Critical Illness Cover policy.
Earlier in the year, AIG announced that customers can now get life cover online, without the need for a GP report, for certain non-advanced cancers. This includes cervical, skin, thyroid, prostate, testicular, ductal carcinoma in situ, endometrial and uterine cancer.
Ongoing cancer research has shown that diagnosis is on the rise, with one in two people now expected to contract the disease at some point in their lives. But with survival rates having doubled in the last 40 years, more people are living with cancer than ever before, which puts the spotlight back on the need for protection.
